Mental Wellness for Property Professionals

Rising to the challenge of improved performance in real estate through a better understanding of our mental health

The Rise Initiative is a not-for-profit registered charity working to build awareness and education about mental health and wellness in the real estate and property industries. We lead, educate and facilitate mental wellness resources for the real estate profession and their families to promote wellbeing and resilience, including the free Real Care app. Our mission at Rise Initiative is to support everyone in our industry to both professionally and personally grow, succeed, and thrive.

Why do we need to talk about mental health?

I’M FINE!

Mental health – like physical health – isn’t all or nothing. It’s a spectrum that we constantly move along. We have good days and bad days. We have periods in our lives when we feel great, and times when we don’t.

The United Nations defines mental health as “a state of wellbeing in which an individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”.

At the Rise Initiative, we love this definition of mental health actually being a sense of wellbeing rather than illness. Our goal is to empower the real estate industry to better cope with the normal stresses of life, help agents and property managers to work more productively and to create a better industry based on thriving, connection and contribution rather than hustle and grind.

When you know what is going on inside your own head, achieving your goals and feeling good becomes so much easier.

Why we
need to act

Over the past six years, the Rise Initiative has been monitoring key benchmarks around the mental health of the real estate industry. The results may surprise you.
